WCBL Players of the Week For Start of Season

The Western Canadian Baseball League has released the Players of the Week for the start of the season.

Michael Borst of the Moose Jaw Miller Express is the WCBL's Hitter of the Week after the slugging outfielder compiled 19 hits, 10 runs, four homers, 16 RBI's, and a 1.311 OPS. His best game of the season thus far came in a 12-2 victory over the Yorkton Cardinals where he reached base four times, hitting two homers, one double, and 3 RBI's.

Lethbridge Bulls second baseman, Ashton Roy is the honourable mention for Hitter of the Week after he had 19 hits, 10 runs, four homers, 16 RBI's and an OPS of 1.284. On June 5th vs the Brooks Bombers, Roy had the leagues most impressive game of the year, clobbering three homers and driving in nine RBI's, which lead him to this weeks honourable mention.

Chris Paruleski of the Melville Millionaires is the WCBL's Pitcher of the Week after posting one win, 15 strikeouts, a 0.92 WHIP, a 0.69 ERA, and allowing only 10 hits in 13 innings pitched. The right hander is currently second in the league in ERA and fourth in strikeouts.

The honourable mention for Pitcher of the Week is Junior Pimentel of the Medicine Hat Mavericks. The New York, New York product put together fantastic numbers this week after posting two wins, 13 strikeouts, a 0.00 ERA, a .063 WHIP and allowing only four hits in eight innings of work.
