The Western�Canadian Baseball League announced the Players of�the Week for week eight of the�season. (July 22 - 28).

Claiming Hitter of the Week honours was Medicine Hat Mavericks infielder, Collin Klingensmith after posting a batting average of .593 with four doubles, a triple, two homers, nine RBI's and an OPS of 1.682. On July 28th against the Melville Millionaires, Klingensmith put together a performance that helped cement his Hitter of the Week as he went 4-6 with a triple, a homer and three RBI's.

It was a Player of the Week sweep for the Mavericks as Owen Steele was the Pitcher of the Week in the WCBL after posting an ERA of 0.00 with a WHIP of 0.38 in eight innings pitched. In a start against the Melville Millionaires on July 26th, his only start of the week, Steele tossed eight innings, while striking out eight and allowing only two hits.
