Making a Push in the Power Rankings

The race is on, both in the standings and in the Power Rankings.

A trio of Western Canadian Baseball League teams edged up to secure their place in the top three, while a couple of other clubs tumbled.

The Medicine Hat Mavericks rode a three-game win streak to a 9-2 record, which is good for top spot in the WCBL standings and No. 1 in the Power Rankings. Hot on their heels are the 7-2 Saskatoon Berries in second spot and the 6-4 Okotoks Dawgs in third.

The Sylvan Lake Gulls are tied with the Dawgs for first in the West Division but their stock in the Power Rankings dropped from top spot to fourth following a recent series loss to Okotoks.

Sitting in fifth are the 6-3 Regina Red Sox, followed by the surging Lethbridge Bulls in sixth place. The Bulls bats were on display during a 19-11 romp over the Gulls at the Rural Roots Baseball Classic in Oyen on June 8th.

The back half of the rankings held relatively steady, with the exception of the Fort McMurray Giants climbing a couple spots into ninth and the Weyburn Beavers dropping down to 11th place. The Beavers are in the midst of a six-game losing skid.

Brought to you by Sentinel Storage and Access Storage, the Power Rankings provide a weekly rundown of the teams that are hot and the clubs that are not across the WCBL.
