SaskTel Player of the Week Brady Bye
Chalk up another Western Canadian Baseball League honour for Brady Bye.
The hard-hitting Regina Red Sox infielder, who is the reigning WCBL Playoff MVP, got off to a stellar start to the summer collegiate season.
Bye launched four long balls and manufactured 16 runs batted in (RBI) to shoot up the league leader boards in both statistical categories. The Regina product also registered 16 hits, 10 runs and six stolen bases over his first nine games of the 2026 campaign between Opening Day on May 28th and Sunday, June 7th.
Due to his excellent performance, Bye has been named the SaskTel Saskatchewan Player of the Week.
In doing so, he beat out a strong field of East Division candidates, including WCBL hits leader Ethan Murdoch of the Saskatoon Berries, Moose Jaw Miller Express ace Westin Walls and Swift Current 57's slugger Jake Hiromoto, who also swatted four homers. Bye's teammate, starting pitcher Kaegan Baker, also generated interest. He is the league's current strikeout leader.
