SaskTel Player of the Week Chris Franks
Chris Franks is a beast in the East.
The slugger with the Moose Jaw Miller Express torched opposing pitchers in the Western Canadian Baseball League (WCBL) between June 8-14 and earned SaskTel Saskatchewan Player of the Week honours as a result.
The Ashland University student racked up 11 runs batted in (RBI), 11 hits, five runs, five doubles, one long ball and three stolen bases in just four games.
Franks is now in the top five in the WCBL for batting average (.444), OPS (1.251) and doubles, with seven. His 23 RBI are also tops in the league.
He beat out his teammate, pitcher Jacob Glazener - who leads the WCBL in strikeouts with 32 Ks - for the East Division Player of the Week kudos. Hard-hitting Jake Hiromoto, a power hitter in the Swift Current 57's lineup, and Austin Boylan, who has been an RBI maching for the Weyburn Beavers this year, were also considered for the award.
