Canada Day at the Park
Canada Day is better at the park!
The Western Canadian Baseball League (WCBL) has a full slate of action planned for Canada Day - presented by BrokerLink Insurance - on Wednesday, July 1st and we cannot wait to see you at our ballparks across Saskatchewan and Alberta.
The celebration of Canada's 159th birthday will include plenty of fireworks on the diamond and after the final out is recorded.
The action gets underway with a matinee matchup between the Saskatoon Berries and Brooks Bombers at NexGen Patch at Cairns Field, with play set to get started at 1 p.m.
A pair of doubleheaders get going shortly after that.
The Lethbridge Bulls host the Fort McMurray Giants for a twin bill at Spitz Stadium. The first game starts at 1:40 p.m., with the second contest set for 7:40 p.m.
Currie Field will see the Regina Red Sox welcome the Swift Current 57's for a 2 p.m. game, followed by a 5 p.m. matchup.
At 6:05 p.m., the Moose Jaw Miller Express will square off against their East Division rivals, the Medicine Hat Mavericks, at Ross Wells Park.
Another pair of Alberta rivals - the Sylvan Lake Gulls and Okotoks Dawgs - will do battle at Seaman Stadium at 7:05 p.m.
Rounding out the 8 games between all 12 WCBL teams is another 7:05 p.m. evening affair between the Weyburn Beavers and Energy City Cactus Rats at Energy City Metro Ballpark in Spruce Grove.
Come help us celebrate Canada Day in the WCBL!
