Carter Roth put his stamp on the 2026 Western Canadian Baseball League (WCBL) All-Star Game.

The slugger with the Medicine Hat Mavericks went two-for-three in the summer classic and delivered a two-run home run in the fifth inning that helped break the game open and put the East Division on a course to a 9-2 victory over the West Division All-Stars.

For his heroics with the bat, Roth beat out his East Division teammates Gavin Panks (Saskatoon Berries), Joe Madill (Weyburn Beavers) and Justin Simard (Regina Red Sox) to claim All-Star Game MVP honours.

Elijha Hammill of the Sylvan Lake Gulls was a top performer for the West Division. The outfielder went three-for-four with a double, an RBI, a stolen base and a walk during the All-Star Game in Saskatoon.

Roth has been phenomenal for the Mavs all year. The Ontario product is batting .341 with a .395 on-base percentage, 61 hits, 31 runs, 30 RBI, 18 doubles and five stolen bases in 43 WCBL games this year.

For the period of July 13-19, Roth is the Village Brewery Alberta Player of the Week.
